Nevada land for sale -- rural
acreage properties in northern Nevada Nevada Land and Resource Company, LLC (NLRC) is
one of the largest private landowners in Nevada. NLRC owns in excess of 1 million acres of land
along the Interstate 80 highway corridor in northern Nevada. Most of the land forms a checkerboard pattern of alternating full sections extending 20 miles along both sides of the original railroad right-of-way.
Parcels vary in size from 40 acres to 640 acres.
Property types include residential lots, freeway
interchanges, potential industrial sites, and
agricultural range land.
NLRC was originally formed in October 1995 as a land and
resource management and development operating arm of a joint venture between Western Water Company and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Firm. In May 1997, NLRC was sold to
PICO Holdings, Inc., (PICO) and Global Equity Corporation, which were merged into PICO Holdings, Inc., in early 1999.
The mission of NLRC is to manage, develop, lease, and/or
sell its land assets. NLRC manages over 200 land use contracts, and has sold
nearly 1 million acres of land. NLRC has undertaken a "highest and best use"
analysis of its land holdings, and entertains a variety of
management and disposal options to maximize revenue. |
